Who we are
CookGroups is an independent review and comparison site covering cook groups and reselling communities in the US and UK. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or paid by any of the groups we review. Every ranking on this site is based on direct, paid membership experience — nothing else.
The team behind CookGroups has been active in the reselling market for several years across sneakers, electronics, trading cards, and retail arbitrage. We built this site because most cook group reviews we found online were either written by people who had never actually joined, or were thinly disguised paid promotions. We wanted something that would hold up to scrutiny.
How we review cook groups
Every group listed on CookGroups has been reviewed by a paying member who was inside for a minimum of 30 days. Our review process covers six areas:
- Alert speed — We run side-by-side monitor comparisons during live drops to measure real response time
- Retailer coverage — Which retailers are actively monitored, and whether they match what most resellers actually need
- Community quality — How staff treat new and existing members, the quality of guides, and the general signal-to-noise ratio
- Value for money — What a typical, active member is likely to generate relative to their subscription cost
- Tools and resources — Whether guides, drop calendars, and additional tools actually exist and are maintained
- Member feedback — We cross-check our findings against what real paying members report publicly and privately
Scores are assigned on a 10-point scale across each category. The overall score is a weighted average, with speed and value weighted more heavily than secondary factors.
Our editorial independence
We do not accept payment for rankings or reviews. We do not offer "sponsored" placements. Groups cannot pay to improve their position — reviews are based entirely on what we experience as paying members.
This site does contain affiliate links. When you click through to join a group via a link on CookGroups, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This commission does not influence rankings — groups that pay higher commissions are not ranked higher. Our ranking order is determined solely by review scores.
We re-evaluate all groups at least quarterly. If a group changes its offering significantly — price increases, staff changes, drop in alert quality — we update the review accordingly.
Why we built this
Cook groups are a real financial product. Memberships typically cost £25–$150 per month, and the decision to join one — or which one to join — is worth making carefully. Most people searching for "best cook group" find content that is either outdated, written by someone with no real experience of the group, or quietly incentivised to push a particular recommendation.
CookGroups exists to be the thing we wished existed when we were looking for our first group: direct, honest, experience-based reviews that tell you what actually happens when you're inside, not what the group's marketing says.
